In this book, we describe effective reading comprehension strategies based on our experiences as teachers and observers of outstanding teachers. Our aim is to provide teachers with a body of comprehension strategies that challenge students to think about textual meanings at deep levels of understanding;

the theoretical and evidence-based support for the comprehension strategies presented in the session; and rich, contextualized descriptions of the comprehension strategies in actual classroom and clinical settings with students and teachers.
